Sacayan Stories: warranty work = remodel

We’ve had a crazy few months! Since the beginning of April we’ve been dealing with the warranty repairs on our house. They came out to fix some bubbles we had in the linoleum floor, added some molding on the cabinets, and patched up all the popped nails. Our house finally looks normal again! No more blue polka dots…

we made them come back a second time because he missed a lot.

And now we have some color! No more “boring builder beige” as we called it! Instead of having them repaint back to the beige, we paid a little extra and picked our own color.

The lighting isn’t the best, and please excuse the disaster!

2 workers painted the living room/dining room and kitchen, and they had to touch up all the patches in every other room. They also painted the mantle back to white and the baseboards. It was a long day – for them and for us! They did a really great job and we love our new house!

This was how I kept Kaydin entertained and out of the painters’ way for a good part of the morning.

We went to Burger King for lunch and to play for a bit, then Kaydin and I headed up to the airport to pick up my mom who came out from Cali for 2 weeks. It was totally coincidental that she arrived the same day AK was coming up from FL for the weekend! AK had no idea my mom was coming! While we were picking mom up at the airport, AK hung out with Kathryn at the house in the hot garage while the painters worked. She was shocked! It was a tearful surprise =)

Here is AK, mom, Kaydin and myself (Kathryn who didn’t get the memo and wasn’t wearing appropriate attire) We all got dressed for the day matching! Blue, blue, blue - Totally unplanned!

Since the main part of the house looked so good with a new coat of paint, I decided “why stop there?”

Next up was the front bathroom!

Thanks to my mom and Kathryn (who like to paint, I do not) Our front bathroom got a big makeover! After weeks of looking for a new shower curtain, I finally found this one that I thought was cute, and some yellow walls to go with it. Love the little froggies!
