Last weekend we attended the annual company picnic for Michael’s work. We were really looking forward to this year for a couple of reasons:
1. Kaydin is old enough now that he can play and run and do things pretty much by himself. This also means he can tell us what he wants to do – or not do.
2. This was the first and last year(for a while) that we traveled without any diapers or extra clothes, bottles or sippy cups, strollers or wagons….you get the idea. We were free! It was great!
The few days leading up to the picnic, we were worried it might rain. It has never rained on our picnic day! It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day – even a little on the chilly side. The Rock Ranch did a wonderful job as always hosting all of us – on a Sunday when they are normally closed. They had the zip lines going, petting zoo and pony rides, train ride, fishing, paddle boats, and this year they even had a paint ball tournament for anyone that wanted to enter! Kaydin only seemed interested in the giant jumping pillow and the slides they had. We got him away from those to go see the animals and to ride the train once, but he would have been on the slides all day long if we let him!

Next year we’ll be lugging all that baby stuff with us once again for our little lady! It was really nice to have a year off =)
