Meet Indy

This is Indy Heart, the newest addition to our family!

She joined our family on January 8th 2014 when she was 8 weeks old. She is a Husky/Shepherd mix.

All of the pics above were taken the day we got her.

She was the cutest, softest little furball!!

I love her coloring, black ears and along her back and her white eyebrows and tipped tail.

She really loved the snow! Her natural environment =)

When we first got Indy, she was smaller than Bruiser

And soon she was bigger than Bruiser =)

They get along pretty good. Bruiser used to be the energetic one, but he is a lazy old fart compared to her! She’s always trying to get him to play with her and he just wants to lay down somewhere. So then they end up fighting/growling/snarling.

Now she’s really started to grow. When we first brought her home, it seemed she was mostly husky. Now that she’s getting bigger we are seeing more of the shepherd in her.

The kids love Indy. Kaydin really likes having a dog he can run around with and chase/be chased. She’ll fetch toys for him, and sometimes I catch sweet moments like this <3

She is definitely still a puppy though, and we are constantly reminding ourselves of that! We’ve found small holes in the backyard where she’s been digging. And you can tell when she has been digging because her legs are more orange than white. Kinda gives it away!

This is our first go around with a big dog – we’ve only had small dogs until now! She’s already passed all of them in size, and she’s not done growing. Also our first long haired dog – lets just say I’ve invested in a lot of hair removers(lint rollers). And I used to vacuum a lot before…… But we knew what we were getting ourselves into!

She chews on anything and everything! We try to keep toys that she is allowed to chew and play with, and keep her active so that she won’t want to chew or have time to chew things.

This still happens sometimes though…..

Michael has done a great job getting all her shots on time and she’s scheduled to be spayed in April. He takes her to the Macon dog park as often as he can to get some extra energy out.

She is a handful, but we love her <3
